F.A.Q

Q: What sort of camera do you use?

A: I shoot with a Nikon D3000, which is one of the most basic DSLR cameras on the market. As for lenses,  I recently received a 50 mm and I am loving it so far. Photography is something I enjoy doing on the side. I am definitely a work in progress and by no means am I an expert.

Q: What do you do for work?

A: I work for Parents as Teachers. PAT is a nation wide program that helps first time parents through personal home visitation. I work to encourage positive parent-child interactions and increased parent support and education. I get to help through monthly visits where we discuss infant and toddler milestones, complete developmental screenings, and the every day struggle of raising babies. I love it. Mostly.

Q: How did you and Matt meet?

A: Matt and I are actually both from the same small Kansas town. I was 15 years old when we first met at a youth group event. I was instantly smitten with the tall, dark, and not gray small group leader. He, on the other hand, was not impressed with the young, giggly youth group girl. Things progressed slowly from that point forward. My freshman year at KU was a rough one without him. My sophomore year, he moved to Lawrence. And by October? Surprise!  We married the following year, which was right at the beginning of my junior year of college. I love him. A lot.

Q: How old are your kids?

A: Simon was born in 2003. Bennett was born in 2007. Cora Jane was born in 2011. I always say you get one uh-oh baby. I had mine. We’ve been very careful after that.
